Overview

One night, a state-assigned assassin breaks into the home of a writer with democratic beliefs. The assassin has come to carry out a death sentence issued by a totalitarian regime. The two engage in a long conversation about ideology, freedom, life, and death. Their discussion is overheard by two messengers of the Lord of Death, who also begin to converse among themselves.
